The key elements of the ball
Luis Blanc (Argentina) and Karin Emrich (Germany) are both directors of Destinotango, a place of teaching and dance in Germany.
For about ten years, they have been dedicating themselves to their passion: dancing tango and sharing the knowledge they have been transmitted by their Argentinian masters, that they personalized over the years. They want to pass on the ballroom tango, the one danced in Buenos Aires milongas.
Karin and Luis use to organize regular milongas, international events (encuentros, festivals...) and endeavour to pass on the tango culture beyond the dance (concerts, readings, projections...).
Workshop 1 (1:45-3:15pm): Ochos con adornos (Ochos with embellishments): forward and backward ochos, pivots, embellishments, use of ochos in the ball, flow and techniques so to get an expressive dance but respectful of the other couples on the dance floor.
Workshop 2 (4:15-5:45pm): Combinations milongueras for tango waltz:
- basical exercises and combinations so to practice the flow of movements, suspension and musicality, with a special attention to grapevines (giros)
- various waltz so to illustrate different ways to dance their specific musicality
- position and comfort in the embrace.
Workshop done in French, English and Spanish.
