Tango Spleen (Italie)
In a few years only, Tango Spleen gains and excites a large international public in concerts and dance events.
The tanga ensemble based in northern Italy, created and directed by the argentinian musician Mariano Speranza, is already appreciated as “…one of the most acclaimed tango orchestras of the last period”, performing regularly in Europe, Asia and Argentina.
Large success is obtained in festivals and theatres in Italy, among the others we remember La Società dei Concerti of Milan, Valtidone Festival, Festival Latinoamericando of Milan, “I Concerti nel Parco” in Rome, “Suoni entro le Mura” in Treviso, “Sotto le stelle di Galla Placidia” in Ravenna (“Tutti pazzi per il Tango…Spleen”) and “L’altro lato del violino” in Cremona (“Calorosi applausi per l’ensemble”), and many others.
Due to the character and the versatility of the project, Tango Spleen is open to significant collaborations within other musical genres.
In 2014 the Tango Spleen Orquesta shares the stage with the famous tenor Marcelo Alvarez in the show “Tango Alvarez” in Moscow, for the surprise of public and critic: “Young virtuosos create true magic on stage!”
In 2013 Tango Spleen starts a collaboration with Bernardo Lanzetti (voice of the italian prog) and proposes a new sight on the music of the 70’s progressive rock band Acqua Fragile in an acoustic – orchestral version, resulting in the live cd-dvd VOX40 (Ma.ra.cash records), and in 2015 is together with the platinum record awarded uruguayan singer songwriter Malena Muyala in her european tour.
The ensemble is in charge of the music part of several shows based on music and dance.
From 2015 to 2017 the original interpretation of Shakespeare masterpiece Shakespeare “Romeo y Julieta Tango” is touring in prestigious italian theatres (director L. Padovani, production by Naturalis Labor).
It provides the live music for “Tango de mi Buenos Aires” by the Tango Rouge Company of Yanina Quiñones and Neri Piliu, with over fifty representations and two international tours in Russia, Ukraine and France.
Tango Spleen has published three albums: “Canto para seguir” in 2015 “un amalgamiento musical y instrumental realmente magnifico” (Radio La 2×4 Buenos Aires), “Típico” for Abeat Records in 2011, “Tango Spleen” in 2010 which contains the original piece “Milonga Schupi” winner of the national competition “Suoni Senza Confini” in 2010, promoted by Fondazione Pubblicità Progresso, under the high patronage of the Presidency of Italian Republic.
