AN EXCEPTIONAL TANGO EVENT FOR DANSERS

For the first time, we are pleased to welcome to Tangopostale the Sexteto Milonguero and the DJ Marcelo Rojas, who will be playing so we can to dance in a “muy porteña” atmosphere.

sexteto

El Sexteto Milonguero.
In 2009, Sexteto Milonguero was already one of the most sought-after orchestras on the list for the Tangopostale Festival. At last, in 2014, our dream has come true and on Saturday night one of the top current orchestras for dance music will be coming to Toulouse. Sexteto Milonguero was created in 2007 to play dance music from the 1940s that is usually played in milongas; but the orchestra gradually developed its own style beyond merely copying orchestras from the Golden Age.
Over the past seven years, Sexteto Milonguero has played regularly in the most famous milongas in Buenos Aires and throughout Argentina, as well as during the biggest festivals during their tours in Latin America, Europe and Asia.

He is currently, “musicalizador del Gobierno de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires”, programmer of “La2x4”, the official Buenos Aires radio station, and also DJ at the Confitería Ideal in particular. He has played music at the most famous milongas in Argentina and Europe. For many years he has participated in major festivals in Latin America and during his travels in Europe and Asia.

A couple of guest maestros to round off the evening in beauty:

Barbara et Claudio)

Barbara Carpino and Claudio Forte

A couple of the most charismatic tango dancers of their generation, who will be coming directly from Italy where they have been living for a number of years.
For about the last twelve years, they have been travelling around the world to perform in the largest tango festivals and events. They have formed their own tango school and the Syracuse festival in Italy.
They select the music for their demonstrations only 10 minutes before they go on stage to perform! This is how they keep intact the emotion and passion that they want to share with the audience.

Salle Jean Mermoz

Located in the Parc Municipal des Sports (Municipal Sports Park) in Toulouse, the Salle Mermoz is an imposing building with a beautiful art-deco façade and a monumental staircase.

In the lobby of this generously-sized hall you can find refreshments, have quick snack at the “Café Tu Luz”, or stroll among the exhibitors’ stands presenting dance shoes and clothing as well as a cultural area.

The dance hall, with sound and lights provided by seasoned professionals, will be equipped with a 400 m² dance floor bordered by a small army of fans. You can also talk quietly at a table, listen to the orchestra and watch the demonstrations given by the “maestros”.
