The tango step is not about going from point A to point B, it’s about everything that happens between A and B.
This is where your tango, your creativity, your choices live… All the figures, from the simplest to the most complex, are in this precise place. Where do you expect them to be? Whether they are born, live or die... if not in the step?
The figures are not separated from the step, they are the step! The shortest path between A and B is therefore no longer the straight line… but is to already be at B!
The method is the toolbox for exploring this universe together.
SATURDAY JUNE 28:
Workshop 1 • 5 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.: The infinite creativity of the first phase of the step, or how to move through the stillness of movement. Generating simple to “complicated” figures.
Workshop 2 • 6:30 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.: The step does not exist, it is only an excuse to reposition oneself in relation to the other, permanently. The dynamics of the linear turn as the basis of walking. Alterations, alter actions, let us alter ourselves… endlessly!
SUNDAY JUNE 29
Workshop 3 • 5 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.: My search for the other gives rise to movement, or “buscarse en el otro”. Ochos, super ochos and variations.
Workshop 4 • 6:30 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.: Use momentum in the turn as a gateway to decision and creativity. Super gancho and sacada from the follower.
Alain
Insatiable explorer and wanderer of tango for 20 years, creator of the "BeyondTango" method where neo meets traditional, Alain invites you to break with preconceived ideas with concepts such as: "the step does not exist", "move the immobility of movement", the "3 centers", "exploit the slowness of speed", "less is more"...
The dancer is invited to explore his or her movement from his or her biomechanics, and to appropriate his or her tango from the causes and no longer from the consequences.
Having himself gone through this process of unlearning and reconstruction, Alain has fully integrated it into his teaching to guide you to the origins of your movement, to discover what is essential, which does not belong to any system... except yours!
