Dancing the lyrics of tangos
with CĂ©cile Boucris & Pedro Ochoa
Workshop

Price : 25€ per workshop / 45€ two workshops / 60€ three workshops

What is the difference between a sung piece and an instrumental piece?

Even if you don't understand the lyrics, letting yourself be guided by the singer's phrasing, by his intentions, his breaks, the way he dialogues with the orchestra, can be a way to approach dance. We offer you a series of three practical workshops aimed at enriching your interpretation skills.

*Workshop 1 • 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Dance a song
Structure the improvisation using the song. Organize the dance resources according to the flow of the music. Highlight the singer's entrance. Understand when to hold back and when to deploy all the couple's resources in the dance. Breathe with the singer, let yourself be pierced by the emotions of the music.

* Workshop 2 • 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.: D’Arienzo/Echagüe, aggressive duo
Work on examples in particular on a song. How to manage your energy in interpretation. Find ruptures and surprises in your dance. The sordid characters of D'Arienzo's lyrics.

* Workshop 3 • 2:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.: Di Sarli/Rufino, romantic duo
What recourse should be used when the music stretches and the voice envelops? Quality of the embrace and the walk. Highlighting key moments. Di Sarli's cycle of sea songs.
