Tango Anatomy: ground and abrazo
with Laure Fourest
Workshop

Price : 50 € per day

TangoAnatomy focuses on in-depth bodywork in tango, using selected elements of anatomy. It is a space to discuss how we experience our bodies in dance, our pleasures and discomforts, our delights and pains, and to explore solutions to both prevent pain/discomfort and develop the technical, musical, and relational qualities of our dance as a couple.

This year, the course will focus on the link between our supports and our embrace, seeking to reconcile the upper half of our body with its lower half. We are all struggling with more or less strong tensions in the shoulders and arms, which cut us off from our ground, which sometimes end up being painful for us, and often uncomfortable for our partners. I will offer you simple tools to help you in this search for relaxation and bring your embrace to life by adapting it to the proposed movements (making it denser at
certain specific moments to find relaxation immediately after the information has passed), and to the emotional state of you and your partner.

This course will be of interest to both those who have taken the course in previous years, who will find it an in-depth follow-up, and those who have never tackled this work.

Laure Fourest

"A lifelong dancer, and a tango dancer for almost 15 years, I teach weekly in the Drôme region and travel to give workshops in France and Belgium, for associations or festivals. Depending on the occasion, I work alone, enjoying dancing both roles, or with different partners.
Trained in Anatomy for Movement, and now engaged in developing my osteopathy practice alongside my tango teaching activity, I developed TangoAnatomy to accompany tangueros and tangueras during their body journey in this delicate and sensitive dance.
Inhabiting one's body ever more consciously, gently and respectfully, that's what interests me, what transmitting dance means to me, what gives meaning to my profession."

Laure Fourest will also give a workshop on sacadas and ganchos with Carmela Acuyo on Thursday, July 3.
