Osvaldo Pugliese (1905-1995): piano, tango & communism by Solange Bazely
Price : FREE
Every year, our Café Tango hosts tango talks, presented by Solange Bazely and Serge Davy, around varied but always exciting and original themes. This year, we are delighted to return to the Ombres Blanches Bookstore, at the Espace de rencontre (3, rue Mirepoix), and to welcome specialists for four unmissable events!
On the agenda:
• “Osvaldo Pugliese (1905-1995): piano, tango & communism” by Solange Bazely

Whether or not you enjoy dancing to the music of Osvaldo Pugliese, it's time to learn more about this pianist, composer, and conductor who gave tango such a special flavor with his vigorous and passionate music, made of tension and release: an urban, terribly rhythmic tango.
A communist, this exceptional man, with a unique career in a troubled Argentina, was not spared. He would perform in films, at the Teatro Colón, and even in communist countries!
Despite these vicissitudes, he kept creating and moving forward, never gave up and found unfailing support, both from his musicians through the cooperative functioning of his orchestra and from his very dedicated fans.
This is an opportunity to listen to his music, in constant evolution over a long career, with excerpts to put your finger on and, above all, your ear to better decode his style and see the orchestra play his repertoire.
He leaves us a major legacy that many orchestras still claim, as is the case with Color Tango, which we will welcome on Thursday, July 3rd in concert and on Sunday, July 6th in a dance during the despedida.
As if that were not enough for a communist, San Pugliese now brings luck to popular musicians!
