Sexteto Milonguero

Description sexteto.jpg

As early as 2009 Tangopostale sought the Sexteto Milonguero to play for the festival. . In 2014, finally, our dream has come true and the orchestra will play the Saturday night milonga at the Salle Jean Mermoz.

The Sexteto Milonguero comes to Toulouse preceded by a solid reputation for their performances in milongas. Their international career since 2006 has included many countries and the enthusiasm they engender everywhere suggests we will have a great evening.

Yet at the start the idea was very simple. Javier Di Ciriaco, the lead singer and his associates wanted to play music for the milonga that is as danceable than traditional tangos heard on 78s. But they wanted to go beyond the mere imitation of the old guard to offer something new and dynamic.

The interplay between the lead singer and the other musicians is impressive, their strong point being that we forget that there are only six musicians on stage such is the sparkle they provoke on the dance floor.

    Members of the orchestra are:
  • Violins - Marisol Canessa and Gustavo Garay
  • Bandonéon - Mauricio Jost
  • Piano - Juan Rivero
  • Doble bass - Cristian Sepúlveda
  • Singer - Javier Di Ciriaco
